The bigger you build the bonfire, the more darkness is revealed. You see, a secret is not something untold. It’s something which can’t be told.

Skywalker is a direct translation of the word shaman out of the Tungusic, which is where Siberian shamanism comes from. So these heroes that are being instilled in the heart of the culture are shamanic heroes. They control a force which is bigger than everybody and holds the galaxy together.

Apparently there is a great discovery or insight which our culture is deliberately designed to suppress, distort, and ignore. That is that nature is some kind of minded entity. That nature is not simply the random flight of atoms through electromagnetic fields. Nature is not the empty, de-spiritualized, lump of matter that we inherit from modern physics; but it is instead a kind of intelligence, a kind of mind.

Life lived in the absence of the psychedelic experience that primordial shamanism is based on is life trivialized, life denied, life enslaved to the ego. The culmination of man’s effort in time will be the perfection and the release of the human soul. And it’s not that we are ‘doing’ it. It’s that a natural law that we are still unaware of is inexorably unfolding. If you’re not the hero of your own novel, then what kind of novel is it? You need to do some heavy editing. You don’t want to become so open-minded that the wind can whistle between your ears.

Culture is the effort to hold back the mystery, and replace it with a mythology. Unexamined cultural values & limitations of language have made us unwitting prisoners of our own assumptions. Culture is not your friend, it’s an impediment to understanding what’s going on. That’s why the words cult and culture have a direct relationship to each other. Culture is an extremely repressive cult that leads to all kinds of humiliation and degradation, and automatic, unquestioned and unthinking behaviour.

We are caged by our cultural programming. Culture is a mass hallucination, and when you step outside the mass hallucination you see it for what it’s worth. Culture is your operating system. Cultures are virtual realities made of language. Liberate yourself from the illusion of culture. Take responsibility for what you think and what you do. The way out then is personal responsibility, new operating systems downloaded from outside of culture, which means from the deeper wisdom of the psychedelic plants and then a commitment to community and a motto of ‘To the future, without fear!’

Reading integrates something into you, something that you did not know or had not even imagined Reading integrates something into you, something that you did not know or had not even imagined
Samantha Dodge via Tumblr

[...] the act of reading is a secret, and sometimes fertile, ceremony of communion.  Anyone who reads something that is really worth the trouble does not read with impunity.  Reading one of those books that breathe when you put them to your ear does not leave you untouched: it changes you, even if only a little bit, it integrates something into you, something that you did not know or had not imagined, and it invites you to seek, to ask questions.  And more still: sometimes it can even help you to discover the true meaning of words betrayed by the dictionary of our times.  What more could a critical consciousness want?

It's the idea that people living close to nature tend to be noble. It's seeing all those sunsets that does it. You can't watch a sunset and then go off and set fire to your neighbor's tepee. Living close to nature is wonderful for your mental health.
