Pleasure should not be sought
Pleasure should not be sought. It should be a result and not a goal. According to Doctor Pierre Delore, man must develop a " joy of life" and not run after the pleasures of life.
The pleasures of the palate, of the flesh, of stimulation are ephemeral. They undermine the health of those who use them too much, slow down their senses, dull them to the point that they no longer feel as much pleasure as they did at the beginning. These godailles last only a short time, just enough time to taste them.
On the other hand, the joy of life is evident all the time. The person who has it is in good health, he works with pleasure, he is ready to smile when you talk to him, he is always in a good mood; in a word, he is happy to live. He experiences, even in his sleep, the pleasure of relaxing.
He is happy to wake up.
His heart is full of joy.
It is radiant.
We are delighted to meet him.
Happiness consists in frequent repetition of pleasure.
