It was as if certain features of her personality, her temperament, her curiosity, her personality - came out more when she walked. I could be wrong, but when I observe a child learning to walk, it confirms to me in my mind that the pleasure of discovery and mastery is the most intense thing in the world. Putting one foot in front of the other, exploring and transgressing are attitudes that are intrinsic to our nature.
